Thomas Tuchel appointed head coach of England national team for 2026 World Cup aiming ‘second star’

Thomas Tuchel was appointed as the coach of England on Wednesday with the objective of bringing an end to the national team’s lengthy trophy drought.
The individual from Germany, who has previously held managerial positions at Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, has agreed to an 18-month contract starting in January and ending at the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
Mark Bullingham Remarks

“This is a really exciting day for the English game. We we’ve appointed one of the very best coaches in the world,” Mark Bullingham, chief of the English Football Association, stated at Tuchel’s presentation at Wembley Stadium. “Our aim is always to win a major tournament and we believe Thomas gives us the best possible chance to do that at the next men’s World Cup.”

England’s last major victory was 60 years ago when they won the World Cup in 1966.
Fourteen managers have tried but none have been able to end that streak, with Gareth Southgate getting the closest by taking the team to consecutive European Championship finals before resigning in July.

Tuchel, who has won the Champions League, has achieved success in various European countries and aims to replicate that success in England.
