Jimmy Carter Casted his 2024 vote

On Wednesday, Jimmy Carter voted in the 2024 election.
The Carter Center confirmed in a statement that the ex-president cast his vote through mail. Just a fortnight following his 100th birthday celebration on October 1st at his residence in Plains, Georgia, Carter experienced the event. He has been residing in hospice care there.
Chip Carter Remarks
Chip Carter, his son, mentioned before the family gathering that his father was thinking a lot about this election.
“He’s plugged in,” Chip Carter told The Associated Press. “I asked him two months ago if he was trying to live to be 100, and he said, ‘No, I’m trying to live to vote for Kamala Harris.’”

The Carter Center’s short notice mentioned that it had no additional information to provide.
Since the start of early voting on Tuesday, Georgia has seen a surge in voter turnout among registered voters. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger reported that almost 460,000 people had voted either in-person or by absentee ballot by Wednesday afternoon.
Carter’s vote should still be counted even if he passes away before Election Day on Nov. 5.
Robert Sinners, a representative for the secretary of state, mentioned that according to Georgia election regulations, an absentee ballot is considered as cast as soon as it is received by local election authorities.
Rules differ by state regarding the validity of early votes in the event that the individuals who submitted them pass away prior to Election Day. The matter became more important in 2020, as the number of COVID-19 deaths was increasing rapidly.
