Jamie Beaton, Guru who Cracked Getting Into Harvard

A college expert has discovered the secrets to gaining admission to top Ivy League universities, such as Harvard.

Jamie Beaton, a 29-year-old Rhodes scholar and entrepreneur from New Zealand, is known for helping students as young as 11 get accepted into their preferred colleges.

Beaton, the creator of Crimson Education, a program for educational mentoring, advised that youths should begin identifying their interests and talents before entering high school.

His fees range from $30,000 to $200,000 for a program lasting four to six years.

He advised The Wall Street Journal that students should concentrate on their strengths to excel and think creatively, such as by securing a scholarship or getting involved in entrepreneurship, in order to be distinctive.

Kids have traveled from various parts of the country to seek guidance from Beaton in New York City, including two from Australia, one from the UK, and two more from Switzerland.

Jamie Beaton Remarks

The CEO paid homage to the ‘great education’ he had, adding that it ‘transformed my life.’

‘It can change yours too,’ Beaton, who attended Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Tsinghua, UPenn and Yale, told the outlet.

He mentioned that Ivy League schools often prioritize their tax-exempt status and strive to uphold it by turning away a high number of applicants.

‘If they are doing so much good for society then why don’t they increase the number of students who come in?’ Beaton questioned.

He recommended that students aim for 10 activities centered around one or two themes, with at least one focused on social justice.

Beaton particularly enjoys beginning to work with children as young as 11 years old in order to fully prepare them for high school.

One of his students likened him to ‘the Steve Jobs of college counseling’ due to his wide-reaching impact.

Harvard Acceptance

He observed that approximately 130 of Crimson’s college counseling customers receive free services through scholarships, including a program that helps over 30 Maori individuals from New Zealand gain admission to prestigious schools in the U.S. and abroad.

Since Crimson’s launch in 2016, 1,003 students in the program have been offered admission to Ivy League schools.

This year, the CEO of a business worth $554 million has created a client list that represents around two percent of students accepted into prestigious universities like Harvard, Columbia, and Brown.

He has 24 young clients who were admitted to Yale, 34 who were offered acceptance to Stanford, and another 48 who were accepted to Cornell.

Pricing

The price for accessing Beaton’s valuable advice and expertise is $30,000, plus an additional $200,000 for a program lasting four to six years.

The program offers tutoring in test-taking, academics, guidance on creating strong teacher recommendations, and tips on getting involved in extracurricular activities like publishing research papers, starting a podcast, and writing a book.

According to Indonesia Expat, Beaton has managed to bridge the gap between ambition and action and has an impressive portfolio of his own.

He received a Rhodes scholarship from Harvard, a Ph.D. in public policy from Oxford, two master’s degrees from Stanford, and a master’s degree in education entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania.

He holds a master’s degree in finance from Princeton, a master’s degree in global affairs from Tsinghua University in China, and a law degree from Yale.

Beaton has achieved significant success at Crimson by understanding the principle of ‘supply and demand,’ where top colleges only admit the most exceptional students and have limited available spots.

According to the WSJ, Alex Robertson, who oversees Tiger Management, the renowned hedge fund where Beaton was employed during college and also invested in Crimson, stated: ‘I don’t think that demand is going anywhere any time soon.’

As recently as July, Beaton has achieved further success in his career by securing $75 million from venture funds, purchasing five counseling businesses that transformed into an online high school, and establishing 26 branches in 21 countries.

During his high school years, Beaton aimed to be ‘the most qualified,’ achieving straight A’s, launching two businesses, participating in debating and engineering contests, all while holding a part-time position at a fast-food eatery.

After graduating from high school, Beaton was admitted to an impressive 25 universities, such as Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Duke, Cambridge, among others.

It wasn’t until his final year in university that he recognized the impact he could have by sharing his own journey to success with 230 individuals during a public speaking engagement.

Despite his significant success, Beaton believes that cracking the college admissions journey doesn’t require rocket science.

‘There’s a great history of institutions seeking to pretend that you cannot train for their processes. For example, at one point, people used to say you couldn’t train for the SAT,’ he said.

‘But in the same way you can train for sports and the same way you can improve your mathematics with high dosage tutoring, of course you can improve things that are important parts of your application.’
