Shaun White Proposed Nina Dobrev
Olympic snowboarding champion Shaun White has a remarkable medal count, but his unexpected proposal to Nina Dobrev is deserving of a gold medal.
On Instagram, Dobrev posted pictures of the couple hugging under a white rose arch and flaunting her five-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring, revealing their engagement announcement on Wednesday.
Dobrev wrote in the Captions
“RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé,” Dobrev wrote in the caption.
However, the photos only reveal part of the story of how White orchestrated a complex scheme to surprise Dobrev with his proposal.
In a Vogue interview released Wednesday, White revealed that he involved a group of individuals close to the couple and Vogue employees to deceive Dobrev into believing she was invited to a private dinner party with Anna Wintour.
White reported that he instructed his publicist to send Dobrev a fabricated invitation for the event, scheduled to occur at the Golden Swan in New York City.
Dobrev agreed to the invitation and playfully remarked that White made it appear very official.
He went as far as to get Dobrev’s stylist to outfit her in Chanel for the occasion.
Dobrev understood the situation when she entered the venue and witnessed White positioned under the floral arch.
Moment when she said ‘Yes’
“I went into shock,” Dobrev said, later adding that White “said all the right things” before she said yes.
As per the report, following Shaun White’s proposal, the couple partied late into the night with a small group of loved ones.
“Best night of my life,” White wrote on his Instagram story on Wednesday.
The pair first started dating in 2020 and have been openly sharing their relationship, global adventures, and White’s final Olympics appearance on their social media profiles.
