Di’Anno’s Family Announced The Sad News

Di’Anno’s passing was officially announced today (October 21st) by his family through his long-time record label Conquest Music. A statement mentioned that Di’Anno had been facing health problems for several years and was limited to performing while in a wheelchair. However, it was also mentioned that he had performed over 100 concerts since 2023. He gave his last solo artist performance at Hype Park in Kraków, Poland on August 30th.
Di’Anno, born in 1958 in Chingford, East London, sang in several rock bands during his youth before joining Iron Maiden in 1978. Di’Anno introduced a blend of high-pitched vibrato and rough, tough attitude to Iron Maiden’s first two records, Iron Maiden in 1980 and Killers in 1981, before leaving in 1981. The Di’Anno period also featured the release of the Maiden Japan live EP.
After leaving Iron Maiden, Di’Anno went on to pursue his music career with bands such as Battlezone, Killers, Gogmagog, and Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse, in addition to releasing several solo albums. His most recent release, The Book of the Beast from 2024, includes his own original songs and updated versions of tracks from his time with Maiden.
